...I can't help but feel somewhat underwhelmed and disappointed. Like, wow, that is just so unsurprising and yet there was no hint whatsoever that Nebiros still cared about Samon to that extent since then. And like... that really does not explain how he became such scum so quickly and practically permanently. Is that kind of backstory a sign of having to barrel towards the end? Dammit Jump, why you gotta slam the axe down so quickly

I actually like this Arc so far. It has a bit more personal tone to it than the Mastema one so it feels more developed and makes a bit more sense. I also have no problem with gag manga getting serious arcs as it can be a very effective tone change and some gag manga have serious arcs that put serious manga to shame.

Gag manga are funny, but they don't sell well. Battle mangas always do well, so editors make the mangaka change their genre if they want to stay published.
