jesus christ the world building is insane, it's not in your face from chapter 1 but instead you slowly learn more and more throughout the chapters.

The world building of this manga has been really interesting and I appreciate we learning more little by little, in fact it was one my favorite aspects of Beastars/Beast Complex, but one thing in particular caught my attention, perspective.

All those bizarre social norms and biology is weird to us because it's showing a perspective in a far off future, and such things are extremes of what we currently have, and if we think from the perspective of our grandparents, our current world looks as bizarre to them as this one is to us. A good example of this is Fuyumura's height, it's not uncommon to see older people talking about how people nowadays are way taller than back in their day.

That's something I always liked in her work, she always go full in when it come to making the setting and it's implications, she doesn't hesitate to make it truly alien with many elements that don't mirror anything in our era directly.
