You don't have to trust women to sleep with them though. Especially if your goal is to do it once and throw them away.

And trusting her or not (honestly also whether he slept with her or not), keeping this bridge unburned is useful so that there's an outsider who's not a crazy mountain person who might be willing to be his ally or vouch for him if things ever get dicey with the authorities or the wider town.
I don't know, I just really think having Mikoma be the one to do it was strategic.
