Mikoma having that weird misogynist vibe in certain panels, but outside of that, he's trying to move on, gave Momiji what she wanted and now she's the one who's saying she's scared bc Mikoma is literally doing as she wished?? Gimme. A. Fucking. Break. Ryou. I smell some slight recycling from the Yuuko and Akira plot.

Roka literally gave the reason to Mikoma's words from middle school, he'll become the new accolite of the mountain. Shit will become funnier once we come back from the Obon break and we get the news of Ryou entering in the climax arc because manga is doing even worse than Abyss in its 1st month in sales.

i didn't really think so until just this chapter, but is mikoma getting groomed by taiki? mikoma's speech this chapter really sounds like a teenager who IS a victim of grooming and is unaware of it just because taiki is a man. gushing about some kind of "bond" between them, complaining about the presence of an adult who showed up to supervise their relationship, saying he doesn't want anyone to "get in the way of what they have"..... also it just so happens that mikoma brings up grooming this chapter himself, though not in regards to himself
i didn't really see any of taiki's behavior towards mikoma as strange at all but man it'd be fucking terrible if thats where this ends up going

If anything it seems he's the one putting more stock in the relationship than it warrants, not Leaf-man. Why does the kid relate to such a degree to a man whose life was ruined by a woman? Guess him being something of an outcast makes his unrequited crush weigh on him more than it should. Anyway, unless this ends up being a case of an unreliable narrator, it really didn't seem like anything was wrong with their conversations.

What even? His life now revolving around a cabin in the mountain is neither him moving on in a healthy way nor what she wanted. She said outright she wants her friend back. Meanwhile he's shutting himself away from everyone who doesn't have a sob story they can blame on a woman.
