As much as I like this development, it seems a little early to resolve the basic plot just like that. After all, this is eight volumes long and ongoing according to mangaupdates.
I was kind of looking forward to seeing her make it on her own but ah, this is fine too. Although I am expecting some twist like his apartment not allowing pets.

Cats can't digest milk well. It's weird dogs and chocolate is common knowledge but cats and milk still persists as an incorrect stereotype.

Probably something to do with how animals feed from their mothers but I’m sure there’s cat safe milk too, as well as strays just surviving on what they can

I’m also surprised by the fish thing too, while cooked fish meat can be a thing that owners would give as a treat but other than a shallow river idk how much stray/wild cats are also willing to get wet to capture a fish like a bear in a river but I suppose it depends, esp since some strays in JP seems to be catch and release after neutering and them being fed by the neighborhood
