From my knowledge of romcom tropes, we might be before a "the childhood friend came back: with a CRUSH" example. But it might end up either being subverted, or ignored entirely. This manga loves to tease with subtle harem flags only to subvert them.

That doesn't stop me headcanoning miss thicc cop beating Yae up for: "stealing my little sister's crush and making her mope all weekend, will you bitch?!"
