Of note:
“Do you like men?” could also have been translated “have you always liked men?“ or “do you tend to like men?”.
It’s somewhat non-specific w/r/t that. There is an implication of it being “since before”. Same phrasing could, for example, be used to ask “did you go to x place before?”

Anyway, he’s asking if he’s gay or bi etc. If this is something new. I’m not sure how a “yes” would have changed things. The girly face complex? That makes sense...

I love how this series approaches sexuality.

I asked my wife this when we first started dating. She’s been married to a man and dated men before so I asked if she’d known she was bi (came to find out she’s pan, later) and she said “no”. I was a bit nervous for a hot minute.
Then I was like “wait, my twitter profile pic turned you gay? That’s awesome!” It was a joke, of course, but still gratifying

Miyano on pg. 12 really gave me the Shimanami Tasogare aesthetics/vibes for some reason. Also, thanks for the insight @Thrembs. Very interesting. :)

Update far after finding out: she’s apparently only into girls as far as she knows, but can’t be bothered to nail down a label.
Her being aspec (demi, basically) kind of impedes imagining hypotheticals.

IIRC she was going with just “ace” but then she saw a tweet of mine (her cousin and I were mutuals and talked about music and ish like that) and said “maybe not exactly…?” which is still awesome.

"I'm not gay but I'm into you" ruins BL for me
I was writing a long thing and the browser crashed.
Basically, the artist legit tries to do better going forward. She said so. To me. (During a livestream)
Miyano asked if he generally likes men, in a sidelong way. He uses uncharacteristically casual speech. But “I can’t explain it” is crappy.
Lame.
The tone and structure of the series changes over time and starts to shed BL tropes, until it just drops them. So give it another chance if you dropped it!
It stays around the level it’s been at (which is better than most, let’s be real) for a while, but it plateaus at “fucking awesome,” imo.

I’m losing my mind waiting for the next chapter, because it’s been a while and the last one ended… gaaaaaaah I need to know!
