Of note:
“Do you like men?” could also have been translated “have you always liked men?“ or “do you tend to like men?”.
It’s somewhat non-specific w/r/t that. There is an implication of it being “since before”. Same phrasing could, for example, be used to ask “did you go to x place before?”
Anyway, he’s asking if he’s gay or bi etc. If this is something new. I’m not sure how a “yes” would have changed things. The girly face complex? That makes sense...
I love how this series approaches sexuality.
I asked my wife this when we first started dating. She’s been married to a man and dated men before so I asked if she’d known she was bi (came to find out she’s pan, later) and she said “no”. I was a bit nervous for a hot minute.
Then I was like “wait, my twitter profile pic turned you gay? That’s awesome!” It was a joke, of course, but still gratifying
