Ok, I think this may be lost in translation, as I missed it until more than one reading in Japanese:
Ogasawara asked Sasaki if he’s gay. Not in so many words, but more “you swing that way?”
Sasaki replied with “There’s good BL out there.”
He doesn’t hide it, though he’s not announcing it.
He reads BL in the classroom.
