While I am enjoying the comedy (that fourth-wall-break was pretty damn good), this feels like it's just turning into a sitcom. It'd be nice to get at least a little more plot. It doesn't have to be much. Like seeing MC's father and brother flailing around as they try one scheme after another. Maybe try to put MC under a subordination seal/spell/curse and force him to do all the work for them? (Only to have it hilariously blow up in their faces.)

Oh, hey! You know what would be funny? If Sara wasn't kidding at all about them being married. That, at some point, she snuck the marriage contract into some paperwork under his nose and he just signed off on it, thinking it was something to do with the kingdom's day-to-day affairs. I just love it when a character is sneaky like that.

So everyone would immediately forget about the competition and be excited about their new found wealth.

At this point it isn't even him just being too talented anymore for his incompetence farse to work, it's also his luck. Realistically speaking, what're the chances that the first slime he finds is the strongest slime in that time period and location? If this weren't a comedy manga I'd have dropped this for such a cop out... oh who am I kidding, I'm addicted to slop.

Like if it was a case of "oh, this legendary fire spell is actually basic magic we needed to use to defeat normal monsters", it'd make more sense, but if even he acknowledges it as instant death magic, that society seems pretty irresponsible. Just teach everyone instant death magic, what could go wrong?

They be using instant death magic as home defense just as the founding sages intended.
