Ok.... Let's talk about the writting real quick.
First off, pro hitman, cool. They would NEVER go "Hey, check out my secret weapon!", I get it, exposition for the audience. Have him go "Don't worry. I'm a professional and have my ways", then have text boxes talking about it to the audience. Of course, these are still both failling the "show, don't tell" of story writting. So one could also have him actually try to use and have our character actually engage and take it down. Would've been more exciting too.
It's hard to make main character OP and engaging. And between that, and everyone else in the whole world stopping EVERYTHING they're doing just to go there and flatter their egos, those are 2 red flags. Hell, I would've understood if it was his family activelly stoking the fires for a "take that for turning your back on our ways" kind of thing. Hell, could've been a borther of his who recorded him fighting, would help a lot. But "It's that one fighting style! They are so powerful that we must prove ourselves and/or were used to kill our antecessors so we must exact revenge" is VERY unpersonal and makes it very awkward how gung ho everyone in the world is about it.
For now I still find it engaging and like the concept... But I hope it improves a bit, because those flags are curbing my enthusiasm.

You're misunderstanding something here, they aren't doing this out of ego. Multiple times they said that they have beef with the Akamori family, generations of its member have killed friends, family, teachers, etc. of everyone going after the MC, it's a blood feud. Multiple times they have said this, by multiple different characters.
And the fact that his father already confirm he kill hundreds but below 1.000
