Never confirmed but is suspected that he committed suicide.

Last year he was embroiled in a controversy with the "author" of Yani Neko because it placed higher in a contest (not sure I think it was the Next Manga award), he created fake accounts to defame and harass them (both are from the same magazine and publisher), the publisher conducted an investigation and discovered his doings, and eventually put the manga on hiatus.

Months later other twitter accounts discovered that he also did the same to his ex and her family members...

I guess he has been under heavy stress and finally, broke the camel's back. It's a sad case. The artist is not a criminal, just an asshole. He deserves a punishment but not at the cost of his life.

While it's possible that it was already 100% cancelled behind the scenes and we just didn't know yet, we don't have confirmation of this, and it's very possibly not the case. Publicly, it was only put on hiatus after the scandal broke, and was only cancelled as he was announced dead. To me, that reads as: had he not killed himself, and had he been able to work things out with Nyannyan Factory (putting aside what he did to his ex's brother), maybe the series could've come back. I don't know.

No, well, yes, on that X account. But he had a sub account that he was far more active on and on which he posted later.

There may not be a Volume 4, but indeed there are remaining raws of this series, up to Chapter 39. So hopefully they see the light of a TL so we can get some sort of closure on this.

I hope they will release the volume 4 eventually, once the controversy dies down. In the end, the artist didn't do anything wrong, only the writer did, who is dead and wouldn't benefit from the sales anyway.

There's enough content for 4th + 5th volume. Or a 4th volume with 300+ pages.
