The pacing has really slowed down since the first 5 chapters.
Here are the relevant characters again:
Ciel - A reincarnated Korean orphan who is now in a novel she read, the current her saved the Grand Duke from an assassination plot, and now she's cursed to have the body of a child
Ferze Eckart - Grand Duke Eckart and also a branch member of the royal family, he was the novel's minor villain and a secondary male lead who is killed by the FL [white hair]
Eustia Visenna - 100+ yo cursed immortal man who recently became a Duke, he is the novel's main villain who also gets killed in the end [black hair and blue eyes]
Sharkis Visenna - Eldest son and heir to the Visennas [black hair and red eyes]
??? Visenna - Second son who is said to be a"wild dog" [probably blond boy on cover art]
- Eckart is still around for some reason and Ciel goes to find him. He says he doesn't think the Visennas will keep their promise and try to keep Ciel for more than 3 years so he's planning to kidnap her when the time comes. He's currently here to scout out the premises so he knows how to avoid the traps. He was also watching over her during the tests to make sure she didn't die.
- Ciel begins her 3rd and final test, although both Duke Eustia and Sharkis accept her into the family already. Her job is to kill a giant wolf by herself. She's given a single dagger.
- The wolf knocks the dagger out of her hands and Ciel cries for Eustia to save her. Both Sharkis and Ferze jump instead. However, it's Eustia who gets the hit on the wolf.
- Ciel knows she failed the test and the test admin on site confirms it. But Ciel's cute so Eustia gives punishment to the test admin instead of her. Ciel feels bad for a second but honestly who cares about cannon fodder, so now she's officially the adopted daughter of the Visennas.
- Now Ciel has a bunch of classes and one of her teachers is Noyce Ruge, who is important because Ciel remembered his name right before the chapter ended. Also, she and Ruge talk about what a ruler should be like and how to enforce the law, especially in the Visenna territory. Ciel gives her answers based on what she thinks the Visenna family would choose.
