This is a weird manga. It captures a certain period of time and is unabashedly racist towards everyone. Nevertheless I do find it charming in its own way, and would recommend to others.

Hmm I don't really get much of this... The summary only describes the middle portion of the manga... The rest happen in Japan and don't seem to be related to the main story.

But still enjoyable.

It's a little disjointed but it captures the lives of younger and poorer Japanese adults in the 80s. Interesting read.

The stories about the judo teacher are the best of the lot (and, frankly, I could have gone for some more. I was interested to see if anything was ever going to happen between him and his neighbour), but my favourite has to be the one about the recording studio.
