This chapter just didn't work well. A murderous demon complaining about humans being backstabbing, huh? Give me a break. Christina was already fighting a battle to the death, yet she now supposedly found her reason to fight, after a demon's taunts? I recall her declaring already earlier she wants to save the forest. The action was passable but the dialogue was nonsense.

Ye, the demons talking about betrayel and stuff isnt working well, it could have it they were fighting some sort of revenge-war-thingi, but they are shown as just beings that have gone mad and therefore become demons and now just like torturing and killing as a sort of fun.
But well.

the humans have been shown to be utter trash though too like they killed ryuu of at the start for no reason so its quite likely that that demon was a reincarnation after being killed by the traitious heros from the start as well.
I mean Ryuu is probably the exception on how he felt about being unjustly attacked and killed. it wouldnt be surprising that the humans are the cause for the demon attack

@Syanalassa Haven't there been plenty of decent humans in this story? That demon is invading an elven forest in order to annihilate everybody there, just for the heck of it. What possible right does he have to give lectures to anyone? In many a fantasy, ordinary humans are mostly weak, so they fear monsters. In the beginning of this story as well the villagers were afraid of marauding orcs and the giant bear was unbeatable for them. That's how it goes. What exactly do those demons need to fear? Nothing. They are just plain bloodthirsty.

Btw, by no decent moral code does getting betrayed give you the right to betray a random third party in turn. That only makes you as wicked as the one who betrayed you in the beginning.

@Kaarme Well they could live in one of those universes where humans fuck up everyone's shit from time to time. The classic "humans are the heroes and somehow kill the gods themselves when pushed" kinda nightmare world.

For those complaining about Nakama power: it isn't the case here. She didn't got a power upgrade because of friendship, she had the power before but couldn't find a reason to use it. (Though, there is still a problem: if she had the power before, why wasn't she more useful during the first attack)

That spiel about humans being bad/inferior was weird, because as far as I know the demons literally want to kill everyone. Also, I think that squirrel would have been in less danger, if she didn't pick it up.
