Coulda gone without the yandere photographer and the ending felt rushed and wasn't really all that emotional since it was pretty obvious and the coma/surviving took what little emotion there was out of it. Still a solid 8/10 tho. Would highly recommend

Aaand we gone good ending route. The thing I slightly dislike is not good ending itself, but pointlessness of disappearing cliche.
Did they ever explained why Oga is also in the mix? Or was this "only pure of heart can see the logic behind this"?
The fun thing is Kobayashi sisters managed to transition into sisterly yuri without loosing sanity.
Yeah that bit puzzled me a bit. I think her angelic returj was tied to the flower shop magic, hence only its caretakers could see her radiance.
Nah, it's more likely that the author just setup smth and forgot, there were a fair few unsatisfying loopholes/plot points, but overall riveting read.

I like it. It was strangely interesting to read. Might have needed a few more chapters though.

Well hot damn, i'll be an angel's uncle. That didn't end exactly how i expected it to! While abrupt, the ending was definitely on a much happier note than i thought it'd be!

Overall, there was definitely still a huge loss for Sayuri and Mikoto. Essentially having their entire romantic story erased from existence. Even from Mikoto's own memories. I assume what happened was that Mikoto was essentially near death, her spirit wandering after her body collapsed, and after she made that deal with god, she existed as a corporeal spirit only allowed to exist for 1 year, and once that year was up, she and every memory she made would be erased from existence. Not quite what i was expecting but still a heart wrenching twist nonetheless. Although either because god felt merciful or as just a natural side effect, the memories of that year may be gone, but the feelings left behind weren't. Evidenced by how Himeko couldn't distinctly remember Mikoto but had a vague sense of familiarity. One can only hope the same case is true for the current Mikoto living in her original body. And that's not even mentioning the fact that Mikoto is still terminally ill. So while she's free to live the rest of her life with the one she loves, who knows how long that life really will be at this point? And how limited it will be thanks to her illness. But maybe....that's the point? The idea that, you don't know how much longer you have left, no one knows how long their life will be. So the best thing you can do, is be with the one's you truly love, and live every moment like it's your last. To really enjoy life. And as long as you're happy, and you can leave behind happy memories in the hearts of the one's you love, that's all that matters in the end.

As a whole, i thoroughly enjoyed this story. Among the incest romances i've read this is definitely one of the better ones. A really heartfelt story that knows how to give you that sense of dread of the impending inevitable while still letting you enjoy the little happy moments, in spite of what the reader KNOWS is waiting for them at the end. Although it definitely wasn't free from it's own faults.

Looking at YOU ms. Stalker McAssault photographer. While i think the build up to the twist of her being a......STALKER was well done, the overall resolution to her story was just....weird to say the least. All this big build up to Mikoto about to send her ass to the gulag, then barely getting any punishment for her actions, and even having Sayuri OFFER FRIENDSHIP in the end???? excuse me????

Also the straight up unanswered plot point of how Oga was able to see Mikoto's wings and remember her after her angel form vanished. Like huh??? I guess we can just chalk it up to "focal side character powers".

And speaking of Oga while i liked her character ngl, her side story was definitely....not as interesting to me as the main pair's story. It felt like a side quest that was shoved into the main story. Himeko wasn't all the likable, and just kinda annoying and plain nasty with how she would force herself on Oga and try to undress her. While i can't call it bad in good faith, it's definitely...not what i signed up for with this story.

And then there's mr. papa himself, man is barely a character i'll keep it real with you. No screentime, only the most barebones explanation for his divorce with the mother(who exists for even LESS screen time and has even LESS of a character), and only the most FLIMSY excuse and "resolution" for how he abandoned Sayuri. Yeah fuck em, hell fuck BOTH of their parents. Both as characters and as people.

And as for the ending itself, while yes I do believe it did a great job having a hopeful yet extremely bittersweet tone and message and theme, i can't help but feel how abrupt it was. Like it just kinda STOPPED. Easily could've had an extra epilogue chapter to truly tie up every loose end and give a much more final conclusion. Plus i can definitely see where people are coming from when they say this was a "cop out" and that Mikoto actually dying would've been a much more poignant ending. But i don't necessarily agree or strongly disagree on. Could just be my big softy romance loving heart, but the sister's AT LEAST being able to live the rest of Mikoto's frail life together is still a perfectly poignant and bitter sweet ending.

And now for the last thing I feel the need to cover. One of the big elephants in the room when it comes to this story and it's special "sub-genre". The INCEST. And while yes, Mikoto and Sayuri's romance was very heartfelt, and touching, especially when you have the full context behind Mikoto's backstory, I sadly can't say that this story handles the TOPIC of incest the best out of the stories i've consumed. A big part of these types of forbidden love stories is JUST that, the FORBIDDEN aspect, and how these characters try to make peace with the unshakable truth that their love was born in a place it truly "Shouldn't" have been. The abilty for these characters to steel themselves and "face the music" if you will. To prioritize what truly matters most, their love, fully accepting the consequences of what comes with that love. From a physical point of view, from a social point of view, from a mental point of view, everything. However, the most that this story does with this topic is just play it up for laughs with how much Mikoto OPENLY lusts after Sayuri, and the self referential jabs the characters make. Maybe because this is yuri incest, and the physical consequences are nowhere near as heavy as straight incest, but it definitely felt like this story had a much more idealistic and "fluffy" view of the forbidden love aspect of this story.

But, with all that said, this is still a very heartfelt and bittersweet story that knows for the most part what it wants to focus on, the toothachingly sweet relationship dynamic between, Mikoto and Sayuri. And on that front, it more than delivers. As my first foray into the world of yuri incest, "Sayuri-san no Imouto wa Tenshi" was definitely a very solid beginning!

Ending kinda underwhelming, would have made it better if they had sex for real and Mikoto disappeared like how it was written, then Sayuri learned about what happened to her actually, and Mikoto dies in the end. That would leave a deeper image of Mikoto in Sayuri's life, and make an epilogue depicting Sayuri finally leanred how to move on and socialize/finding her love.

Also dad's backstory is kinda shit. He abandoned her, with no contact whatsoever. That's literally abandoning her.

Overall, the story is extremely good, with very great depth on Sayuri and Oga's characters. Wish they'd expand more on Oga's relationship with Himeko though, gotta get that yuri on. Just a little lackluster towards the end with the yandere and the ending. Short but good read nevertheless.

Last chapter when Sayuri first sees Mikoto in the hospital bed it is very briefly mentioned that Mikoto made Oga able to see so that Sayuri wouldn't give up apparently. A lot of plot points felt very rushed and tied up last second in literally the last couple of chapters so it makes me think this wasn't necessarily originally intended for how it would end.

The Father situation is tied up in literally two dialogue boxes.
The Oga thing barely being mentioned.
The coma might have been intended but the whole thing was resolved very fast which well. I agree just makes it a wasted and useless plot point but that's why I don't think it was originally intended.

Yeah I don't know the whole last volume really felt off. Probably a reason or reasons for it. (Also Im years late to reply to this lol)

I just skipped to the end and it was okay.
Kinda a dick move that theres a divine force (author) that makes the sister beg to fix their life.
