Typesetting comics is pretty much an art in its own and so are the fonts. I know how hard it is for a typesetter to find the perfect font for anything; going through the fonts, choosing and trying everyone of them is a hassle and also finding new fonts is pretty hard because we don't know whether they'll look good or not.

To fix this problem, I've prepared a catalog out of the Font compilation, which I stumbled upon while surfing the net.

Compilation Folder -> https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sb01qp63nxjmyna/AAAKdvR8j_gx858igJADAzO5a?dl=0
Catalog -> https://www.dropbox.com/s/13qfc27u3ide6p5/Scanlation Font Catalog.pdf?dl=0

[ol]All the fonts are arranged alphabetically in the catalog and folder.[/ol]
[ol]Many have had family names slightly altered from versions you can find online specifically for ease of use, so expect a pile of duplicates if you just throw all this in your current folder or incompatibilities if you share PSD's etc. with other scanlators.[/ol]
[ol]Where required, separated fonts have been merged into families.[/ol]
[ol]Blambot fonts have all been suffixed with BB, as this is not the case for some usually.[/ol]
[ol]Any folders ending in LMN are modified versions. This may mean accented characters or crossbar I's.[/ol]
[ol]Don't just pick the first font you see! Make sure what you choose blends well with the work itself and don't throw in a new font for every small change, make use of what you have.[/ol]

This resource can be further improved and if you have any font suggestions please do tell.
Thank you.

It would help a lot if the fonts were sorted by aesthetic type(which obviously is no easy task).
Also, here's a font I found useful in many situations. Imitates a bold calligraphy brush.

Font - Ounen Mouhitsu Added to Miscellaneous fonts

I'll make a new list on Aesthetic type fonts once I get some more suggestions... maybe a new Aesthetic font catalog? Sounds nice.

Great topic. I've been typesetting for 8 years and fonts' choise is still difficult ?
With this post I'm providing two download links:
1 - https://www.mediafire.com/?efbn4w3khuh9q (several fonts with accented vocals [òàùèéì], very useful for Italian scanlation. This is a selection of the most common fonts, modified by two patient guys several years ago: xyz85 and eleumas)
2 - http://www.mediafire.com/file/cv9zey4v8plxo8c/Font+San+diego.zip (a bunch of official fonts, not only with accented letters, but also with macronised vocals [āēīōū]. I think these are official ComicCon fonts, but I don't really know). A preview of San Diego fonts: http://i65.tinypic.com/15egxe.jpg

I know the problem. For new series, I spend a lot of time searching for the perfect font.
However, I have a list of my favourite fonts branded on my brain: for the most part I already know which one pick.
The big deal is that not every fonts fit in every balloons: tight baloons require different font than rounded ones.
For rounded balloons, my absolute favourite font is AlterEgo BB (which I forgot to mention above, btw), that's also have accents and macrons mapped.
I used it here, for example: https://mangadex.org/manga/23962/service-area

I recommend you guys to use "Nexusfont" for font manager! You can also group them into collections as well (which I did, but I keep adding new fonts and forgetting to put them in collections... sigh). Lately when typesetting I try to use non-generic one so scrolling over my collections help me very much :D

junkohanhero's fonts: http://junkohanhero.1001fonts.com/
Large selection of free grunge and eroded fonts.
Great for typesetting screams and other horror Elements.
I especially like Polla, although it might be “too much” in most places.
