A few things ... U-Boats didnt operate in the English Channel because many parts are too shallow to be safe and the British had air superiority over it. Then again ... this series is not very historical accurate.
Second, why the odd censorship on the German planes? I pretty sure the series had shown it and what do you know it ... you can see it plain as day in chapter 1, page 50 and I am mentioning because the only thing it does is actually make it more obvious of what it meant to be there.
