Translation seems a little wonky. Also, where's the rest of Chapter 1? Surely this can't be it.

@lysanderstreason I’m sorry if the translation seemed wonky as sometimes a cube wouldn’t fit a spherical hole, but I shall try to improve my work. And if you wish to complain to the author about how the chapters are short then please head to the raw website as you may comment there.

What an insightful chapter. I've learned so much about this series just from this alone.

Maybe they are con men pulling a stunt, and she realizes it...

True dat.
Not anything positive, unfortunately.

@Treswimming, @AbyssalMonkey
Possibilities for next chapter, based upon third male being labeled Liar #3:
1) This is a setup, they are all working together and moving into position to attack the girl.
or
2) The first two are working together, and the third guy is actually the bodyguard, and she doesn't know it.
In either case, she's oblivious to what is actually going down.

Otherwise, why bother with this chapter at all? Especially, why labeling him Liar #3?

The girl is 100% aware that all the men are in on a scam together. It's a pretty classic one.

Two guys pretend to have an argument over a prize - probably like a lottery ticket or something else that shows they've "won" something valuable. The third guy offers solomon-like wisdom that they should split the prize, but neither has enough cash to buy the others' share. Let's say the prize is worth $1000. So they then turn to an innocent bystander, asking if she would "buy" the prize from the two men -- most likely at a discount, like say $700. And she gives $350 each to the two men, the idea being that she can redeem the prize herself and make a profit.

Except that it's a scam, and the prize is fake. The victim will have given $700 out for nothing.

I think it's very clear here that the girl recognizes the scam -- that's why "Liar 1/2/3" are on their faces and why she looks so smug. She's enjoying watching them play out their little trick, but she's wise to their ways.

I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot, I'm an idiot!

It's been a very long time since I've had reason to think about that scam. Decades, in fact. There were chaps on the Chicago subways who pulled a similar trick, only with three card monty; them I figured out immediately, they really weren't all that subtle in my mind. That was some time ago, I left Chicago in 1994.

Well, I was partially right. The three were working together to target the girl. Just... not how I was thinking.
And, as you point out, no, she wasn't oblivious, but acting like it didn't involve her was her best defense.

Which revises the impression of the first chapter, and what it conveyed concerning the parties involved.

This one may be worth watching.
