Cute and funny chapter but first she calls her Maria Sensei and then Maria Chan? Isn't Chan supposed to be for close friends and why calls the principal Maria kun? Kun is for boys right?

For Example:
Nanako calls Eiji Ei Chan in the Anime even though he is a boy, Chan is supposed to be for Girls (Senryuu Shoujo)

It's only confusing sometimes but i know very well the meaning of Chan, Kun, San and all the other words from Japan and i know on which person do you use what

Switching from sensei to chan is probably because they lost some respect for her, and kun can also be used to refer to people of a lower rank than yourself.

chan is not used just for girls, is more like a cuter -san, usually you use -chan for like babies, younger kids, close friends (no matter the gender), grandparents, youthful women (like maria sensei here), your lover, cute animals. Like some people call their childhood friend with -chan, regardless of gender of these, but that depend who is it anyway, some people won't mind you calling them with -chan, others would.

Kun depend where you at, in academic or workplace, a senior will refer to a junior with -kun usually, in workplaces a senior will refer to a female employee with -kun too.

@Ryder96 The honorific -kun is also normally used in workplace settings by direct superiors to their subordinates regardless of gender.
