Dang, heavy.

Also the total lack of Psychology 101 in these comments is something else, predictable.

thank you for the new chapter, and wow, where was as this empathy and willing to analyze the extent of what the author was going for in the comments section of the second to last chapter of Gal and Bochi when it had that false flag incident happen in the comments section?

I guess the EEEEHHH's weren't convincing enough.
This explains why Hiiragi was saying those self hating comments to the nurse. It's like she crushes on the nurse because she knows she can't get away.

"Tsubaki, you don't think about anyone but yourself."

Honey, she thinks about you more than you think about her.

@Medic-chan GL telling that to a teenager with a massive inferiority complex and more to the point lacking the window to Tsubaki's head we omniscient readers enjoy.

Feeeck.... That hits hard..... Hello inferiority complex my old friend. Damn... She's still kind of an ass though.... But I understand the feeling, especially when it comes from a sibling. Growing up with brilliant parents and gifted siblings while you yourself remain average makes you feel so, damn, small, but once you find something for yourself, it's a'ight.

@RNDM1 Yeah, people were most likely not expecting to have to brain with this series. But, this also presents another psychological aspect, about how people do not change their initial opinion about someone, no matter how much they change over a given time. This is why 1st impressions are important.

I admit, I too, was not expecting such a deep psychological trauma to present itself.

Being constantly compared to others, especially siblings, can create a powerful inferiority complex.
It is even worse during adolescence, developing feelings of envy, jealousy, contempt, etc. These cause hatred, anger and disdain towards others, namely the sibling, but also eventually spreads to anyone and everyone.
Which is what we see happening to Hiiragi. She is pushing everyone away to avoid more comparisons, acting aloof and distant.

The biggest problem is that she does not know where to vent her frustrations, so she bottles them up inside.

Wait, I thought the other one had the inferiority complex. So it's both of them? One feels inferior for not being as good as her sister, and the other feels inferior for...being better than her sister?

... I think I'm just gonna ignore these two characters for a while. Bring on more Poop Girl.

This is similar to the relationship between Hina and Sayo from Bandori, I love it.

I get the idea behind this chapter, but it's told in a really messy way. Hiiragi's "reasons" just come across as petty to psychotic, with no pit stop to relatableville.

To elaborate, I think the main problem with Hiiragi's characterization is that her backstory is that of an avoidant character, while her actions are that of a highly confrontational one. Her character as of now is "dazed, reeling, about to break" while her actions towards her twin is that of a genuine bully, responding to any sign of concern with cruelty and utter hate. Backstory:Out of control ; Actual actions:Very much deliberate. It just doesn't gel.

Hiiragi, you don't have to compete with your sister anymore. You've pretty much won that battle; she's terrified of you.

@Demomanowar and those qualities are mutually exclusive? What is "dazed, reeling, and about to break"? And she wasn't responding to the concern she was set off when Tsubaki brought up wanting to be together and her being useless.
@MrMcNasty This is a mostly gag comedy, both characters seem like they're on their way to growth, and this is only their second(?) interaction in the story so far.
