Edit: Giant with arms and eyes, isn't that hecatoncheires? I first ran into that in Dark Horse's translation of the Appleseed comic, back in the day...

Hecatoncheires means something along the lines of 'the Hundred Handed Ones'. Cottus, Briareus and Gyges were three Hecatoncheires (50 heads and 100 arms) who helped Zeus overthrow the titans. That's about as much as I know without wikipedia.
