Huh, the monsters basically never form cogent speech in Masaaki Nakayama stories. I guess I can see why—his creatures are so weird and alien, kind of ET, that when they talk in complete sentences it kind of takes the bite out of it. Part of the fear, which comes from fear of the unknown, is alleviated in the fact of them becoming more comprehensible. The move is towards familiarity, towards safety.

One of the creepiest stories he's done IMHO was Seeds of Anxiety + Ch. 8 Verdict? which featured a terrifying lucid entity (God?)..
