I have about as much hoyo brain rot as the next girl but "incurring the wrath of the heavens for intervening in their plans" is like a xanxia staple. If anything the entire plot of Genshin (people seeking knowledge/power forbidden to mortals and the Heavens destroying them for doing so) is nothing more than a variation of the same root theme.Wouldn't be surprised if whole bit in the beginning about preventing a flood, and "incurring the wrath of the holy court" was taken straight from the story of Focalors and Furina
The reason emperors were so revered and called literally the sons of heaven was because they were considered the closest thing to a God on earth. To defy the emperor was to defy the mandate of the heavens themselves and subsequently the gravest sin imaginable.
Really, any sinocentric fantasy is probably going to have such an element, and it's just a little culturally dismissive to write it off as "taken from Genshin"
