Why do I hope the MC kills off Mr Piggy and stage it like he didn't make it in time to save him. Also why do I think that sword that he grabbed is one one with a healing talisman embedded in it.

So the piggy is definitely the person spreading the curse and to try and get themselves credit for the crime they committed, had the guard say the trigger phrase. I'm sure that he will so no repercussions for his actions
