Unfortunate that an innocent woman had to die to prove a point about this guy being a gambling addict.

Saw the horror tag. They made it clear he's a gambling addict with his thoughts on Pachinko in the first chapter.

There was no chance this was going to end well for him. Though considering just how ludicrous his addiction to gambling took over in a moment of emergency just showcases how much of an idiot this guy is or alternatively just how wrecked his life was always going to be to begin with.
