@Roadrunner9000 Are you somehow implying that current systems are any different? Nepotism is the basis of all government, it's just that nowadays the kings hide behind a grand vizier that taps out after a few years to dodge the guilloitine.
If anything, because of this added layer of security, their behaviour is more and more flagrantly outrageous, as without permanent members of government there can be no accountability. The prince's life has been destroyed because he was silly as a 16 year old, when a politician openly bretrays his country and constituents he's promoted via a golden parachute.

@Roadrunner9000 While they didn't officially exclude him from succession. Having the support of the nobility is a HUGE factor on which son inherits the throne. After publicly insulting the Saintess who has already made major contributions to the country, no noble will openly support him.

@HarleyQuinzel

imo maybe kyle also feels inferior towards liz, i mean liz is very outstanding compared to him.
some men prefer timid, weak, less outstanding girls, so those girls easily depends on them.

*Liz is trying to having proper conversation with Aira to became her friend and help her to clear misunderstanding with other noble girls
Kyle: you seclude her!
Also Kyle:
-escort and walk with Aira even he has a fiance, shit that cause bad rumour in the first place
-didn't trying to clear misunderstanding between those noble girls and Aira
-didn't even trying to clear rumours about them
-didn't taught her properly about society
-make Aira become dependant with his shitty affection
-didn't teach her to defend herself

this asshole is the reason why Aira Secluded form others but still blaming Liz about that

the the good things is:

Aira is much better and happier without him, Liz became her friend and help her make some friends, she also help her adjust herself to that world, i feel touched when Aira said that Liz is her first Friend in this world (that mean she isn't even treat kyle as a friend lol), then Sei help her with her prospect for her future with some recommendation

thanks to Sei and Liz

I am glad Aira got out of that listless character assassination trap. lol She was just a walking and talking robot. I don't understand how the fuck the First Prince made that happen. Like...UgH

Yay, Aira is free! Now hopefully she starts developing a spine and independent thought!

At first, you could forgive Kyle to a certain degree as someone with good intentions who wanted to make up for forcing a young girl to go through this, despite overprotecting and ultimately harming her as a result.
With this chapter, you also see that he's immature and lacking political acumen (having the argument in public to presumably try and shame his own fiancé, saying that declaring Sei a saint is just his father—the king's—propaganda in front of a crowd of onlookers) as well as a complete failure at gathering information and keeping up with current events (somehow managing to never find out that there were two people summoned).

Assholetry aside, dude's a terrible candidate for the throne.

So Aira was as much of a victim of Prince Kyle's shenanigans as the rest of the people.

House arrest is the lightest punishment for those kind of people.
