Or, more likely, they got DMCA'd for putting up a paywall on copyrighted material. As is often the case when these translators start acting like they actually own these works, rather than being the legal owner/creator. It's one thing to ask for donations to cover the cost of buying raws and server space and essentially break even, but it's quite another thing to try to charge people money for content you don't own for the sole purpose of making a profit.
