Can't wait to see what happens with the adventurer guild. At the same time, I want to see Mel complete her contract first instead of Yuuta being rushed to another scene.

I feel like it's similar to the contracting in Tsukimichi, where if the power levels are too out of balance the contract fails or the dominant party is shifted toward the more powerful and there's just no point to a spirit here making a contract with someone where they're in charge.

yes in the beginning he had to raise his magic level to form the first contract with Bell. Then again to have enough magic attribute to contract the other little ones. Once that was done he needed to accomplish a token task for each of his contracted greater spirits to complete their contracts.

It feels like befriending a spirit is the most important part. Yes the appropriate level of magic is required for a contract. But all the magic in the world will do you no good as a spirit mage if the spirits think you're shit.

Started reading the web novel since I decided I wanted some Japanese reading practice, it was probably mentioned in the manga too, but Yuuta needed a D rank in magic to contract with Bell, and I assume that's the same for the other small spirits. And yeah, for Yuuta, the minimum was B rank magic for the high spirits, and I believe that was with the high rank spirits wanting to contract with him and making it easier on him. The elemental orb thing they keep presenting him to put inside his own body during contracting is supposed to make it easier on him, and I assume it lowers the magic needed for the contract too.
