WAIT I HAVE A NEW THEORY, in the MC's cell phone photo, Himawari appears with darker hair, but now it seems to be a lighter hair color almost as if she were blonde. Himawari has light brown hair but I don't think it's a coloring error.

CHAPTER 5 PAGE 22, it is clearly seen that even in childhood the hair is left white, but in the photo it is not left white. I repeat, I don't think it's a coloring error.

It MUST be a clue.

What other character have we seen that has that color tone hair, so that the coloring is like that?.......

WHAT IF Ueshi is the original childhood friend and somehow Himawari inserted herself into their lives by kicking Ueshi out?

Ueshi doesn't loop, she's a victim of Himawari's wishes, that much can be confirmed.

The question is how and why it happens... But it's all related to the childhood incident.

Edit: I forgot to mention that perhaps Himawari doesn't remember because that incident isn't part of her childhood memories, but rather a memory that happens before she self inserted as their childhood friend. As for why Ueshi doesn't know them as childhood friends, I have no basis for that, but in these kinds of stories, it always happens that they forget they knew each other in childhood and only remember much later.

Your theory is actually mind blowing, if it's really true then this story took a great turn, my thought is like she created this fake future where 3 of them spend a happy school life not that coma life...

I think I get the gist of this series. Himawari loves Tsubaki and they've been lovers, but Himawari has been hospitalized that she regrets it as it makes Tsubaki so sad that the loop started. When the 1st loop came in her mind she thought she loves Ota, but in her heart she loves Tsubaki so after dating Ota for a week the 2nd loop started then that always happens everytime Himawari rejects Tsubaki even if she doesn't date Ota as in her heart there's only Tsubaki even though her mind says the one she loves is Ota. They are not childhood friends, only classmates in middle school who fell in love. The childhood friend is another one of Himawari's fabrication just like how she made herself think that she loves Ota.

That's not something you say when it's someone you've known for years, that's something you say when you're talking about someone you're vaguely aware of. She also wouldn't be calling him by his surname lol Also, she would have been in the picture on his phone but it's just him and his friend.
