If someone is bleeding profusely, particularly from an arterial wound (spurting, bright red blood), you should immediately apply direct pressure to that wound. People can bleed out and die very quickly, and ickiness and disease concerns _should_ take a back seat to saving a life.

That said, Kaede's come quite a long way from the days when brushing against a boy would send her into a faint. Good for her!
