This is interesting. I think the only issue with the story is that they are actually training these people they took over, when they still treat them like slaves. Usually, according to every time throughout our own history, when you make a country follow you in servitude, the last thing you do is train them in your advanced weaponry. If they are democratic, then they don't treat you like slaves and they absorb you into their populace. If they are like this (tyrannical) then, yeah, they absolutely don't train you. If anything, they ensure you never get out from the hole they've dug for you. So, yeah, the project is interesting and it seems fun, but that really is a pretty big plothole from how reality actually works. So, idk, we'll see how it goes from here.
