So, the "villainess" isn't the bad guy, she's just a tool for her father... I pity her
Not really excusing her behaviour of almost killing Art 😐..

Re-reading I'm kind of confused.. who is Urk referring to with "He didn't come after all.."
She knew her family couldn't come so it can't be them 🤔

Uhhuh, she's obviously rotten as well. Have you forgotten she'd have driven Art to an early grave if her father hadn't "saved" him by throwing him out penniless? The father himself is, indeed, nicely consistent: Art was nothing but a useful tool for him, but since Art wasn't even family, the old man was quick to throw him away. He didn't mind his daughter growing up spoiled because it was his intention all the time to trade her away in an obviously 100% political marriage for the greatest benefit, financial or otherwise. Perhaps you could say he did care about his own blood in a manner of speaking, letting Wenty to have a carefree childhood, too carefree in fact, because he knew the daughter wouldn't be happy later in life anymore. I suppose there was that much "good" in the father, though it didn't have good results, turning Wenty into a spoiled villainess.

Hmm... I wonder if Wenty's father knew Art would be an obstacle, and that's why he decided to get rid of him, even though it seems he took the gold bars the princess gave to him for whatever(dragon slaying? saving her life?), so obviously Art was profitable to have around.
