Gonna be honest, the way Makoto has been tossed aside by both characters is starting to suck. I'm gonna be really disappointed if they don't end up with anyone and it ends in one of those "Oh, I don't like Aoi, I just really admire her". Like, their romance was the pull of the story for me, and for Ryuji to just come through and change everything only for that to not work out either feels dissatisfying. But as always drama in a romance manga could be solved so simply if they just communicated their feelings to each other 😭

I feel like "tossed aside" isn't really the right term for it... It's more like they don't really know what to do so they do nothing. I think the main pull of the story for me is that it's fairly obvious that none of the main cast actually knows what they really want and figuring it out is the whole premise of this story. Also most of life's problems could be solved with good communication, the problem is most people are not good communicators so in a sense it's actually fairly realistic i suppose.
