Trans characters have kinda always been there. We only just started to be super aware of them in the modern age. They used to be characters that were the butt of the joke or decent support characters. Crossdressing characters are not trans and dumbass lefty activists invading manga and anime have spread their stupidity to have people believe they are.

I'm not disagreeing tho. I don't think it was necessary to even need him to be trans. Like the idea that MC comes to a man for female needs when the girl in question can tell him herself. Makes his inclusion unnecessary at worst. Quirky character at best.

Even if it's embarrassing especially if it comes to talks about periods and the like you are living with someone who is taking care of you. No matter how embarrassing it is you have to tell him everything.
