I'm not sure it has much to do with the term, as it is that the Vice-Principal is just conservative. Asking for an interpretation of "nice guy" from teen students may come across to her as something that students shouldn't be thinking about in polite society, such as their ideal interpretation of romantic prospects, a perfect noble figure, etc.
