wow fmc is def a dick, the thing that she wished she had.
Being a piece of work of a friend but then cut off the best friend she could ever have after his one fuckup, yes she was the victim here, but after his wholehearted apology she still chose to be selfish & hurt him, denied his love for her as lust, the thing he regretted having the most. She knew it was boy being boy & she was immature as well but never tried to reconcile afterwards.
Like sure I could overlook those as teenagers being dumb & all, but when they meet again after 15 years she's still the fucking same. She doesn't care abt his situation & looks down on him (the thing she accused him of doing in the past), preaches to him, brags how better off she is while making insensitive joke, knows how much his actions weighed on him after all those years but never once apologizes & acts as it was nothing, even tho she's the one who threw a tantrum b4 they parted.
And the weird part is how author portraits how the guy grew up to have a loser's life despite how good-natured he was. What's the supposed message then, bigger asshole wins life like wtf?
