Exactly. This is another example of what I meant by the series willing to be "messy", and also part of why I find Lucas to be such an interesting MC: he's obviously very sharp, but also full of a lot of half-formed ideas. Considering his upbringing, this makes perfect sense. Seeing the mercenaries pillage towns all the time gave him a very low opinion of soldiers in general. Like the other characters pointed out, even caring about the other rami is a step up compared to how he was in the beginning, but he has a LONG way to go to understanding the weight of his actions. He's also half-formed emotionally, as seen in his feelings towards Zoe. To me, that's what makes it so cool to see him grow over time.Lucas does not see the soldiers as much more than pawns
doubt it, they're running out of time before it strikes and the garland isnt the end of the series, plus the place is way more guarded then the othersYeah, the Garland is totally nowhere inside the fortress, and the area blocked from Demi's vision is a distraction.
I think the father of garland could be lucas father or uncleWhat if Lucas is the garland's father? I wouldn't put that kind of twist past this series. We already have space bending and some kind of foresight, for lack of better descriptions. Time shenanigans aren't that far away already.
Edit: Foresight, what the hell am I saying. It was pretty clear he's actually rewinding time or something already. But you get my point.
