Lucas is very much a child,a very realistic teenager who is learning in a Classroom War lol, he have half form ideas and feeling, very much shaped by his environment, biases and dream, selfish to boot but is learning to care about other, his duties to his
"guardians" and how that ties him down from pursuing his dreams
The Rami blooming, and the fact that when tree start flowering ( if I remember correctly ) when they feel their enviroment is not good enough for living mean they start expending all their energy to spread their pollen
This manga is very Shonen, in a good way simillar to that of CSM

Man, this manga always manages to satisfy me. Each chapter feels perfect in length and story. The complete opposite of CSM and its 5 second scroll

Since this world seems deliberately designed for some purpose that escapes me at the moment, I will simply point out that whatever Lucas does, the world itself simply will not let him be. The only way for him to really quit would be to not play, or to have admin-level privileges. What the latter might look like, I do not know.

Lucas yeah no way he's getting out of war. He's too useful and too dangerous to let go. Either keep being used in war or he'll be killed for his power.

I cant think of a battle manga with a pure support character as an MC, wild how this limit forces the author to use every single character in the battles, including the "fodder".
Battle manga where the MC is a pure support aren't that uncommon : Made in Abyss, Dark Gathering, and a lot of the manga part of the Fate series fall into that category.

What's really different is how that series manages to make the support power into something active and interesting to see rather than have the MC take a step back during fights like most other series of that kind do.
