Red could be an invader (they specifically showed D practicing holding back his regeneration a short while ago), though him being an experimental clone makes a lot of sense too with the monsters showing up now.
It means he's basically a puppet they're letting run wild (and why he stood down that one time when specifically Yellow Keeper told him to).
Assuming of course he didn't just die.
