all i'm confused about is how Blue lost to Peltrola near the beginning of the story, was peltrola just a strong counter to him? was blue unable to fully utilize his divine tool? or something else?

Im going to be honest the pacing isn't an issue for me if Negi can cohesively bring it to a resolution. It seems to me that this pacing was teased for awhile. I mean people complained about the how the arcs were too long and now they're too fast. I don't know it's all making sense to me.
