Kind of a specific request, but also kind of vague or broad. Still, we all know characters like this. Like the main character's childhood friend in Outbreak Company, whose reaction to his confession was amusement that he even thought she might be willing to date an otaku like him. Or Orimoto from Oregairu, who early on made it abundantly clear that he thought he was ridiculously lame and worthless, almost like she was doing him a favor by acting friendly toward him but it's just funny that he thought he could be anything more than "friends in name".
I'd especially like stories where a girl like this becomes an actual love interest, but I'd even be fine with something like Orimoto Kaori, who grows to respect the guy. In short, I'd prefer stories where the girl ultimately decides she'd love for him to be her boyfriend, but I'm completely fine with stories where she simply reaches a point where she can honestly say that she thinks such a future would be a happy one.
