If its not obvious try translating a word through multiple languages in Google translate and then translate it back to the original language, that should tell you why, human translation is also susceptible to this

If you cannot translate the native Japanese please hand this off too another scanlator who can

Because whoever is scanlating this is translating a translation WHICH YOU DO NOT DO UNLESS YOU WANT TO LOOSE MEANING

if you've ever seen those videos of people translating something through multiple languages in Google translate and then back to English then that should explain why
