Hm... I think in this case... why Novem is so mad at Lyle is because he's eating something healthy?

I get what you mean with lyle and Novem
Novem is acts way more cutesy, blushing and bubbly than I pictured in the book while Lyle this early in the story should have been more like a walking zombie and less energetic and expressive.
But aria seems in line with how she was depicted before becoming an adventurer if I remember correctly maybe a little more teasing?
Either way I'm pretty sure the Mangaka just figured it would reflect better on a manga to not have a lifeless protag just go with the flow and get relentlessly torn apart by the ancestors, and the only heroine be cold and a bit manipulative for like 2 straight volumes
