Instead of just throwing away that jewel, MC needs to find a way to seal it up so it can't keep stealing his mana at all times. And if that's not possible, consider outright destroying it.

I mean, it's doing absolutely no good to him. Just sucking out all his mana to let a bunch of dead people bicker with eachother and drive MC insane in the process.
