hint: that's not an accident. this is a setup for the story that you might be able to see coming
It's kinda like, the setup for a story I don't care about because the setup feels like garbage to read.

seemed like it could be fun, but I honestly don't like any of the side characters except for maybe 2 or 3 ancestors, the mc is also pretty mid, so it just ends up annoying me lol (and this may sound dumb, but there's way too much shit to read for a manga that would greatly benefit from some more action, authors shouldn't expect you to want to read half a bible for some mid shit)

This is very hard to appreciate because the so called "funny live commentary from the ancestors" doesn't feel like funny banter, but straight up abuse. Like none of the panels feel like this is comedy, this is simply them hindering his character growth that he could have if they didn't shit on him all day. He trains like hell, is willing to listen to advice and stuff, but is only rewarded by being mentaly drained by 6 pieces of shit contesting each and every of his decisions, even good ones. I'll continue trying because apparently it's supposed to be good after the first arc, but damn it's a difficult read.

EDIT : Okay, after the fight in the forest it definitely becomes WAY MORE enjoyable. Stick with it until you see how strong MC is.

Who is Sophia?

Dont tell me they added more heroines in the Light novel.

Why?!

And they sanded down Aria, Dowd and Specilaly Novem.

These people dont seem like they can barely stand each other, if you are just gonna whitewash your web novel why even bother?

And the trainer is still with them?

And they Cut Aria developent?

And Lyle has too much personality too

Author: "Hm, after reading the synopsis it sure feels like my main character is just a trust fund baby that got kicked out on his ass after someone actually appropriate for the job came along. I got it! His sister will just be the most blatant cartoonishly evil villain imaginable. Boom, power fantasy salvaged."

Ok yeah, I see we've got yet another isekai-esque author who doesn't know the meaning of subtlety or moral dilemma.
Are you an mentally challenged by any chance? At no point in the story is it stated or even hinted that the MC was uncapable of leading his house.

I suppose the author wanted to make the adventurer instructor look cool, but she just comes out as conceited and annoying. Doesn't know Lyle at all but tries to diminish him and humilliate him from the start just bc he's a noble. a
A full-on b*tch.

I'm not sure why you are feeling personally insulted by a (admittedly half-assed) two year old comment, so I would like to point you to chapters 1.2 and 3.3 to start off. In the later, the previous heads are having a heated argument on why Lyle is not a suitable heir. Not just because he is weak, but because his self-pitying personality makes him close off to everyone around him.

The only reason this story goes anywhere is because he has a saintly, Mary Sue-esque fiance running his life and quite literally tending to his every need. It's pretty telling when she 1) arranges lodging 2) orders for them since Lyle somehow doesn't know a thing about common dishes, and 3) Carries multiple buckets of bath water to their room before washing him personally. All while being a woman who very clearly loves him for the person he USED to be and not the man he is currently.

I got annoyed bc your comment was terribly mistaken, but I'm sorry about the insult, it was uncalled for. See, my main problem is treating her sister's villainy as some ass-pull instead of THE core plot of the story. Also she is not fit to lead the house and he was very clearly not a "trust-fund baby". It's hinted strongly from the start that the guy tries extremely hard and that his family is alienated in some way by her.

He's not weak, either. His ancestors even recognize his strength and talent when he starts to heal emotionally. The fiancee (yes, she might be too perfect) is not in love with the man he used to be but with the man that she knows he can be when shown some support. And his ignorance of peasants lives is just irrelevant, that's what comes with being high nobility.

Rather than the "pulled out of nowhere" meaning of ass-pull, I'm using it in the "failed to properly back it up" sense. The sister has a pathological hatred of the MC but states outright that she doesn't "remember why". Therefore, she has no reason for her actions beyond the story labeling her as the literal anti-christ and implying we should not question her motives beyond just being pure evil.

Her villainy can be the core plot of the story AND be backed up by more than just Saturday morning evil pettiness. Instead we got lore from the 1st head, in the form of a fairy tale, about the worse version of the Trojan War. A bunch of people fight over a woman, eventually get tired of fighting, and then blame the woman. Only this time she wasn't just charismatic and manipulative, she had outright mind control and used it for shits and giggles!

If you don't take the ancestor's stories at face value, they all come off as raging misogynists. Nothing they say about this topic is backed up by anything more than their own word, and they outright state that some of these are stories that they heard second hand. And yet, they would absolutely rather have the inept first born son at the wheel rather than first taking an objective look at the situation.

I'm not saying you or anyone else is wrong for enjoying this story. It has simply been hyped up so much that this manga adaptation fails to deliver. I have not read the original novel, and from the comments of people who have I do not feel it is different enough to warrant the time.
