This doesn't really makes any sense. Why does every author portray scientist type characters as batshit insane lunatics? Why ever and always the same trope? It's one thing to be obsessed and overly devoted to one's own research, it's another thing to be a complete moron. Oliver and Ollie should be smarter than that.
