Oh, it's another video game manga written by someone that doesn't play video games.

You'd have to go back 15-20 years to find decent AAA games every now and then, now at most some AA games might pop up that are good, all the rest worth playing are made by even smaller dev teams.

That's not to say that there aren't a fuckton of awful games coming out and that indie devs don't play a large part in it.

It's more like AAA games tend just barely reach the line of boring mediocrity, passable as "games" but not really worth your time. Meanwhile, smaller teams put out games all over the spectrum, ranging from the most amazing thing ever to games that if they don't cause brain hemorrhaging, you almost wish they would so you could easier forget about them.

This is pretty good. Better than 1/2 Prince, Yureka, .hack, Sword Art. This MC is unique. His thirst for fighting reminds me of the MC in Veritas. He's willing to sink low to fly high. MC is
a) not actually isekai into the game
b) has not met up with girl companions who will join his harem later
c) OP but I actually enjoy his play style.
d) able to explain the reasons behind his actions
Art good, AI draw you in with their personalities (Emul is a cute.
The bad thing so far is the economics of this game. For such a detailed (with proper physics inertia?) game one would expect a lot of people playing it already. Otherwise where would they get money to hire developers? Yet the newbie areas are not full? Organizations hunting the "legend beasts" couldn't down even 1 yet because they can't find them?! Either these beasts are not actually AI but controlled by people or MC has a hidden bonus.

@mouseyo22 It's still the start, m1/2 prince and yureka started very great as well. ?hack has many series so Idk how it started. Sword art, I only watched the anime and its start was well mediocre.

@mouseyo22 my guess is that the luck stat might affect the spawns? But usually the stat only applies to crits but it doesn't seem like the case.

This would easily be one of the BEST works i've read in the past months if it wasn't for one detail i really can't stand: author, why the hell did you have to make the MC so unrealistically OP?

We have seen him battle 3 different bosses (Snake, Lucaorn and this Mud Digger), and in ALL OF THEM he should have died 10 times over.

He is:
- UNDERLEVELED (since he has been skipping entire leveling zones)
- UNDERGEARED (literally half naked)
- GOING SOLO (or duo) AGAINST PARTY/RAID BOSSES
- USING A BUILD FOCUSED ON LUCK (which means pitiful hp and defense)

He should have ZERO chances of defeating any of those 3 (Lucaorn in particular should have oneshot him after a few seconds without even looking).
It doesn't matter if he is a godlike player used to harsh situations due to his trash games passion, NO ONE in his conditions should even think about facing, far less defeating, any of those bosses.

@Espadas I don't understand why everyone has this problem. Isn't it kinda understandable that if you play extremely bad games, you get become significantly better at good ones

@munakata being better would be understandable. What he does is completely over the top unrealistic.

I've played a fair bit of MMO and i was a raider in WoW for years. Unless you are really overleveled a raid boss or zone boss with recommended party are DEATH SENTENCES for any solo player, no matter how skilled, because their stats and abilities are TUNED to NEED a party to take them down.

To give you an example: in the starting zone of humans in WoW the final quest was originally a fight against an elite mob called Hogger. The quest told you that it was recommended to fight him in a party.

Hogger became infamous for the sheer amount of deaths he caused. It reached such a ridiculous memetic status that Blizzard added a special counter in the "Deaths" tab of the info menu of each player, called "DEATHS BY HOGGER".

He had very few abilities and he was a few levels higher than the rest of the zone (befitting his status as a minor zone boss). He simply PACKED A PUNCH due to his higher stats.

A world boss like Lucaorn? Unless you are a tank (and MC here is the opposite of a tank) you are dead in a few seconds, because even the most basic attack would deal enormous amounts of damage.

It's like putting a Navy SEAL specialist armed with a rifle against a TANK.

No matter how skilled the soldier is, he has no hope of surviving that amount of firepower.

(edited for more accurate example)

@Espadas Good thing this isn't wow. Maybe don't base your enjoyment of a manga off of accuracy to a westerm MMO when the game is clearly not wow.

There are plenty of MMO's where a solo player can beat a raid boss with enough time and the right gear

@schneider58 Please show me ONE example of someone defeating in solo a CURRENT ENDGAME RAID BOSS.
I am genuinely curious.

And i'm not saying that this manga is BAD because of this. I still like it a lot, but i'm not blind to its mistakes.

@Propodia Yeah I hope this will be another good one before the inevitable "the AI is conscious/actual humans in coma" or harem subplots get thrown in.
@Espadas You're thinking of team based MMORPG by comparing it to WoW. This is more like Elder Scrolls Online where playing solo can get you through bosses no problem. Sure his dodging skills are OP as hell but considered his experience (he's top 1 or 2 in other games) + putting points in agility and luck (he's 55 in luck at Snake and 65 at Mudfish) and I can see him beating Snake and Mudfish. As for Lucaorn it was playing with him. If it wanted to it could have killed him instead of beginning a quest. My guess is the game will turn it into his familiar/companion later on.
My biggest gripe so far is the Birdman being favored by the game. 1/2 prince has this as well and MC becomes so OP it's boring to watch them fight. This is the problem with Strategy Game-like World in general (most prominent ex is "I'm a spider so what")
