Holy fuck Hikari is awful. I defended her decision to erase her memories (none of us can know what we'd do if that was an option) and even her suggestion to end Kurumi's life didn't seem that horrible to me (she was right that Kurumi's life as a vegetable wasn't much of a life) but this chapter really reveals how selfish and cruel she is. She clearly doesn't gaf about kurumi..... imagine seeing ur childhood bff conscious for the first time in years and you tell her to fuck off and die

God Sayaka just burn it all down. Kurumi was happy she was going to move on, she may even have loved Sayaka, but everyone else benefiting from Famille gets in their way. Hikari would rather see her former friend dead than have her ballet life interrupted, Reisho is a true monster.

Thing is if he'd just let them go he would still have his company, his life, and his power. As it is now Kurumi has taken one of those things, and Sayaka will destroy the rest.

Boy, that escalated quickly !

Chapter is a multi target succession of gut punches. Starts with acquainting Kurumi with a decade of treason while she's barely woken out of coma. Then, while we're distracted, the mangaka proceeds to backstab the readership with :

Sayaka said:
— [Come with me] you're never going to be able to move on as long as you stay in familie.
— You can change from the person you are now.
— You can learn as you go.
— You'll catch up soon.

And I've been told from a pretty reliable source that stabbings aren't even over yet !

Still, in her defense, you don't know what it feels like to suddenly remember things about someone you so desperately tried to forget because their memories have been trying to haunt you for ten years straight and because their sins of keeping you in this facility plus your own sins of almost killing her kept you up at night for this kind of long time.
She tried to forget, and just when she's making almost full progress because she knew for sure that Kurumi isn't coming back to help her heal, Kurumi woke up and hit her with a wave of painful memories, making all her former efforts useless.

Plus, if the worst part of her memories arise for Hikari first, her hatred for Kurumi can be very much understandable. She doesn't want her in her life. She had a hard time accepting that mentality, but now when she had accepted it and can be happy about it, the person in question might come back, and she say things in the spur of the moment to keep the status quo, simple as that.

Next chapter is when we get the big reveal and the ultimate truth from the beginning, so I'll be looking forward to that! (Even though I already finished the entire series in another language on another site)
