Hahahaha! The prince just insulted and chastised the Feng family for how they treated the MC. Since he separate the gifts the family has to take what's considered barely passable commoner's betrothal gifts losing face in front of the servants and all witnesses and they can't complain or refuse without insulting a member of the royal family thus committing treason. Also, since MC is getting such divine gifts this is a threat to the family that he's not happy with their recent treatment of her and highly values her. As for the remark about enduring for three years that's because she can't marry and move in with him while basking under the umbrella of his protection until she turns 15 three years later, so has to stay with her father's family until then. Btw, pixiu are stone statues of protectors. Look them up in wikipedia for in depth info. I think the notes are basically special paper with special ink and layout allowing her to take them to a bank to exchange them for a specific amount of silver or gold. Not sure if have to cash them at a bank first to use the money or if equivalent of paper money.
