That daoist needs to have his star chart examined for errors. MC is the phoenix and Shenshi and Chenyu (along with the head Feng himself,) are the ones dimming her radiance. Guy obviously either incompetent or lying. Besides, don't they have con artists too so why believe him without credentials? Also, why wasn't the compass he was using to point out cursed objects shown? Unless it's a real compass that points North rather than a doohicky with an arrow he can rig to point a certain way the magnet won't affect it.
